Message from the Community Lay Director
Dear Community,
Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. I can certainly tell you that it has been a long year this month. I would like to thank all of those who covered my family in prayers. I have not felt that much love since the last walk. This community is larger than life and truly amazing.
As you may or may not know, my Mom passed away on May 4th, six days away from Mothers Day. It is at this time I would like to pay tribute to all you Moms in the community. First of all, you are special because you all have given your lives to the Lord. Secondly you have devoted your lives to your family. Dads most of the time can fix things, but Moms always make you feel better. When a football player wins a Super Bowl, who do they thank first? When a youngster scrapes his knee, who do they ask for? Moms are special, there should be a Mothers Day for the whole month (I guess that would be called Mothers Month, that doesn’t sound as good as Mothers Day though!) [humor].
Carol’s Closet is getting closer to completion. The selection team is working hard to get teams for the few remaining walks and flights. This coming May Community Meeting should be a Grand One. Please try and be there to honor all the previous Lay Directors. Remember, fellowship is before the meeting. I imagine there will be some serious visiting afterwards as well. We have nominations coming up. The summer is usually when attendance wanes a little bit. Please spread the word to attend all events and stay in touch. Everyone ask someone to go with you, someone you have sponsored and haven’t seen in awhile. Remember; please call a board member if you have any questions and/or concerns. God bless you all, and thank you for all you do to make this community stronger.
