Message from the Community Lay Director
Hasn’t it been a great year so far? We have been blessed by God with three brimming Walks and with Teams, Agape, Prayers, Food, Lay and Spiritual Directors and, most of all, Pilgrims who have all been a part of creating a little of what heaven might be like!!!
I feel God is healing us as a Community and feel we should all honor that gift with open hearts and minds as we move forward through this, His year. Please be in prayer for our upcoming Chrysalis Flights. We have both the boys and the girls in July and I know, as a Community, with God’s guiding touch, we will fill those with just the folks God wants us to have there. Ann Driver will lead the Girls’ Flight and Jody Sneed will lead the Boys’ Flights. A big thank you to Dusty Roach and Wilma Stirl for spearheading that effort.
I loved the new order of worship at the last Community meeting and I want to thank Carroll Nall for coming forward with a vision, I believe, he and Mickey Wilson dreamed up! I just loved it. Roy Smith and Dick McFarland also provided a wisdom and leadership that I found truly inspiring.
As Walter Thompson, associate pastor at First Church, wrote, “We must not simply sit back and expect that God will do everything for us. We have to make our contribution as well. As we do this, though, we must keep in mind that our Lord, the God of the universe, ultimately lacks nothing. God is fully equipped to prepare breakfast for us without our help, but he wants us to contribute. …It is humbling to realize that we’re not in control, but at the same time, it is liberating to know that God is.”
Let’s celebrate. Christ is Risen, Christ is Risen Indeed!
De Colores,
Martha Manulik
