Hi Sky Emmaus Community Newsletter
April, 2009 - Page 3
Board Business
In an effort to strengthen communication throughout the Hi-Sky Emmaus Community, Carol Hopkins is providing a monthly summary of the Board of Directors Meeting. The summary from the meeting of February 19, 2009 is available here.
Team lists and pilgrim lists available online
Team lists and pilgrim lists are available on the website by clicking on the Calendar link at the top of each page, then by clicking on the walk number. The Prayer Vigil for each walk or flight is also available at the top of each Walk/Flight calendar link.
Prayer Vigil
Be certain to join in the Prayer Vigil for each of the upcoming Walks and Flights. The vigil is available for signup at each Community Meeting and then at Sponsors Hour the first night of each walk or flight. You can check the prayer time slots that you have signed up for, or see what times are still available for each walk, on this website at the top of each Walk or Flight team and caterpillar listing (click on the Calendar link). Contact Carol Hopkins to sign up for your prayer times by phone at 694-2854 or 528-0642, or by email at carhoppy@aol.com. We are working toward a fresh prayer vigil to cover each event in prayer for the entire 72 hours, so please be aware of the calendar dates for each walk or flight so you can get signed up to pray for the caterpillars, pilgrims, and teams. Anyone desiring to sign up for a permanent time slot may do so; we simply ask that you please include either your email address or a contact phone number so that we can remind you of your commitment and also verify that you are still praying at that time.
Community Members Sharing
Community members are invited to share with the rest of the community in this newsletter. Maybe you have a special God Moment or something you would like to see changed or improved. Send your entries to the newsletter editor, Carol Hopkins, at carhoppy@aol.com before the 10th of each month. See the following for an example.
In Gods Time
This article could have so many titles: God is Good, God Answers Prayer, Closest to Christ and the list goes on. Heres the story.
I went on WW 85, Sandra Fussell will remember the year; she was the Lay Director. Sometime after that, I told a young man about Emmaus and invited him to go. You can imagine. I was so excited because Emmaus had meant so much in my life, I wanted EVERYONE to go. He wasnt really very interested, or so it seemed to me. He was polite, but never accepted my invitation. Well, this week, I was in the hall and heard someone call my name, in almost a shouting voice, ROBIN. When I turned, there was the young man. He grabbed me by the shoulders, beaming from ear to ear, and can you guess what he said? Ive been on a Walk to Emmaus! That was my closest to Christ for this week, for sure.
I havent looked back in my prayer journals to see exactly what I prayed, but I know I prayed this great man of God would go to Emmaus. And on MW 185 100 walks after mine and in Gods time fellow believers, brothers and sisters, he did!!!! God answers prayer. God is good.
De Colores,
Robin Darr
