Women’s Walk #186 – July 9-12, 2009

The presence of the Lord was truly with WW#186.  The Team that God chose was absolutely wonderful. The Spiritual Director and Assistant Spiritual Directors were very spirit filled.  The Music team was awesome.  The Walk was full and the Pilgrims that God sent were amazing.

Men's Walk #187 – September 17-20, 2009

It is great to know and be assured of GOD's greatness even when away from home.  At present, MW 187 has 25 pilgrims.  PRAISE GOD!!! So you know what that means?? It means God's walk 187 only has 11 more spaces, so if there is a man in your life that you want to bless, get him/them signed up before space is gone. This will be the Walk of all Walks.....WOW!!!

Committee Reports

Agape Committee – We greatly appreciate all the efforts of those of you who have continued to contribute your gift agape to the walks and would ask that new members and reunion groups, and those that might have drifted away in their participation, be thinking of new and different contributions to future walks.  If you need gift agape ideas, there are many resources I can give you.  Thanks in advance for your loving generosity, and may God continue to bless you.

I have been listing here each month the walks and flights that are going on in other communities.  Our prayers are requested for each of these walks, just as we request prayer from other communities for our walks.  A list of walks in August and September 2009 for which we should be in prayer is available here.

Team Selection Committee -- Please continue to pray for all the Walks, the Lay Directors, Pilgrims and the Emmaus Community.  If you are interested in working a Walk and/or a Chrysalis, please let any Board member know.  Thanks to the Team Selection Committee for their time and willing spirits.

Administration Committee –    

• Book Table – Please read the special article about the new arrangements for the Book Table for the Grow Through Study talk. 

Gatherings Committee – The Community meetings for the year 2009 are being held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Wilshire Park Baptist Church, 801 S. Bentwood (corner of Bentwood and Pleasant), with our next meeting being on Tuesday, August 25th beginning at 7:00 PM (Babe Chick meetings at 6:15).

The beautiful walk cross displayed at the July 28th meeting was Iris Sanders- Hall Women’s Walk #186.  Remember our Gathering time HAS CHANGED to 6:15, so REMEMBER TO BRING A COVER DISH and come early for food and fellowship. A little clarification on the Gathering time change, there will be no food served after the Community meeting, only before.  I would like to say thanks to those of you who have been faithful to bring food and help with set up and clean up.  Being together and sharing in a time of laughter and affirmation is such a special part of Emmaus. 

I am looking forward to seeing each of you at the August Community Meeting; for a great time of fellowship and thanksgiving for all that God has done for us and the great work He is doing in our Emmaus Community.

Fourth Day Committee – As we approach our next Men's Walk in September, I hope all of you who have been honored to serve as ALDs, LDs, Table Leaders and Assistant Table Leaders will keep in mind that it is very important for you to follow up with these Pilgrims and Caterpillars over the next year.  We build our community and strengthen our outreach by encouraging participation by both our veterans and our rookies.  You all remember how overwhelming community can be when you are there by yourself and that it takes working walks and being involved before you really feel comfortable as a part of the Emmaus Community.  Please continue your stewardship of these precious Pilgrims and Caterpillars by going to pick them up for community, or making sure if they are at community you visit with them, or including them or helping them in their reunion group search.   Our sponsors will help us with this as well but as a participant in the walks, you have a completely different connection with these folks who have attended the weekends.  Please help us to spread God's love by finding ways to keep these newbies connected.  The blessing of the Walk can be increased tenfold if we can get these Pilgrims and Caterpillars included in working the weekends, and it so blesses our community to have new people coming on board.
