Hi Sky Emmaus Community Newsletter
May, 2009 - Page 4
Chrysalis Flight #42 June 11-14, 2009
Flight Crew 42 is off and running! We held our first team meetings and had fun getting to know strange things about each other and playing games to strengthen that bond. As we learned about the different team and prayer aspects of being a Chrysalis Team, we also learned about each other through our discussions. The fruits of the spirit have become our building blocks as we grow to be God pleasing servants. Four talks have been previewed and you will not want to miss this Flight just because of the quality of those. God was patient with us and has finally completed our team. We have young Men of God leading our ministry and music and plenty of excited, servant-hearted, enthusiastic girls from earlier flights who are pumped to share God's love with a whole new Flight. Please PRAY, send us girls, come to candlelight, bring agape, and come pray over us at Community this month.
Fly with Christ,
Barbara Willis, Flight Lay Director
Womens Walk #186 July 9-12, 2009
God is just so amazing!! God has blessed us with 19 Pilgrims so far, and people are still saying they have Pilgrims they want to go on this Walk. I thank everyone for their prayers and support, and please continue to pray for the Pilgrims, the team and the Emmaus Community. We are all looking forward to the first team meeting, which will be May 29th and second team meeting, May 30th. I cannot thank God enough for what he has done, is doing and going to do regarding WW#186. If you have Pilgrims that would like to attend WW#186, please get them signed up. Thanks so much to all the team for their willing and serving spirits.
Prayer works!! Thank you.
De Colores,
Iris Hall-Sanders, Walk Lay Director
Committee Reports
Agape Committee Faithful Community: You have been so generous in your food and gift agape for the first three walks this year. We greatly appreciate all the efforts of those of you who have continued to contribute your gift agape to the walks and would ask that new members and reunion groups, and those that might have drifted away in their participation, consider new and different contributions to future walks. If you need agape ideas, there are many resources I can give you. Thanks in advance for your loving generosity, and may God continue to bless you.
Prayer for other Emmaus communities - Each year, various other Emmaus communities provide us with their wall agape letters, as well as their walk dates and request our prayers for those walks, just as we request their prayer for our walks. We are listing here the walks and flights that are going on in other communities. Here is a list of walks of which we have been made aware are going on in May and June 2009, for which we should be in prayer:

Gatherings Committee – The Community meetings for the year 2009 are being held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Wilshire Park Baptist Church, 801 S. Bentwood (corner of Bentwood and Pleasant), with our next meeting being on Tuesday, May 26th beginning at 7:00 PM (Babe Chick meetings at 6:15). The beautiful walk crosses displayed at the April 28th meeting were those of Ron Hopkins (MW#185 - April 09), and Damon Shupp (MW#166 – April 06). Fellowship time will CHANGE FOR THE MAY MEETING to 6:15 so REMEMBER TO BRING A COVER DISH and join in good Christian fellowship. . I would like to say thanks to those of you who have been faithful to bring food and help with set up and clean up.
The May Community Gathering will be honoring all the past Lay Directors. Lay Directors: don’t forget to bring your cross for display. This will be a great time of fellowship and thanksgiving for all that God has done for our Community.
De Colores, Carolyn Arnold, Gatherings Committee Chair

Music Committee – Is Music one of your talents? Have you ever wanted to be on a Music Team on a walk? Do you play Guitar, Piano, Bass, or any other type of musical instrument? The community needs your talent and encourages you to call or email Bill Thomas (638-8772 or thomasfh@suddenlinkmail.com).
Chrysalis Committee – Both the Boys and Girls Chrysalis teams have started forming. Please cover them in prayer as both have had a very difficult time getting team members. If you are at all interested in investing in the future generation...contact them! They truly need a full list of caterpillars, so please get someone from 15-19 to spend a weekend of vacation time with God. You are all needed at Candlelight too.
