Women's Walk #184 - March 5-8, 2009
Dear Hi-Sky Community,
It's hard to believe that Women's Walk #184 has come and gone, but the anticipation was nothing compared to the unbelievable walk itself. The 36 beautiful women you sent as pilgrims were perfect. The Holy Spirit descended upon us and His work was amazing to sit back and watch. Their testimonies at closing sang the praises of God's movement in each one of them and they glowed with the Spirit from deep within them. I cannot thank the Community enough for their support of Agape, Food and the turnout at Candlelight was awe inspiring. Thank you for the many blessings I received as the humble Lay Director of this walk. Please continue to lift these women up in prayer as they continue with their Fourth Days.
De Colores!
Heidi Anderson, Walk Lay Director
Mens Walk #185 - April 2-5, 2009
To the Hi Sky Emmaus Community:
it was a blessing to see God at work. Everyone pitched in on cleanup and straightening up our meeting location. As I am writing this update, we currently only have eight pilgrims that God has given us their names, but I know He has more in store for us. Please keep praying to God for a full walk as He does answer prayers if we ask for His help and His blessings. God is GOOD ALL THE TIME. We previewed six talks on Saturday and all were very well prepared and will touch the pilgrim's hearts and open their eyes and minds.
The next set of team meetings will be March 13th and 14th at Second Baptist
Church to finish previewing the rest of the talks and to tie up any unfinished phases of the walk that need to be completed.
I would like to ask the community to keep praying for the strength of the team and prayer for the pilgrims to keep them well and to show up for the walk with an open mind and heart.
We are not only praying for our Walk, but also for Ladies Walk #184 that may be completed by the time this hits the website.
De Colores,
Ron Hopkins
Committee Reports
Agape Committee Remember when you went on your walk and how amazed you were to find so many gifts waiting for you every time you came to the conference room table, or the dinner table, or your pillow? Remember the special love you felt? Just think of all the gift (and food) agape we can shower on those pilgrims in 2009. We pray that each of you community members and reunion groups will continue to be generous with gift agape sent for the walks. We greatly appreciate all the efforts of those of you who have continued to contribute your gift agape to the walks and would ask that new members and reunion groups, and those that might have drifted away in their participation, consider new and different contributions to future walks. If you need agape ideas, there are many resources I can give you. Thanks in advance for your loving generosity, and may God continue to bless you.
I am going to start listing here each month the walks and flights that are going on in other communities. Our prayers are requested for each of these walks, just as we request prayer from them for our walks. Here is a list of walks in March and April 2009 for which we should be in prayer:

Book Table The Hi-Sky Emmaus Community continues its ongoing effort to build our book collection for use on future walks and flights in connection with the Growth Through Study talks. We are asking members of the community to donate books which have had meaning to them in their personal Christian growth. These books can be educational, inspirational, humorous, serious, or whatever helped you as a Christian find a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God and Christ books that you would recommend to a friend that might likewise inspire him or her.
You may wish to donate a book in honor or in memory of a Christian friend and you may place a label on the inside front cover which conveys that blessing.
At each community meeting, there will be a deposit box available in the foyer as you enter the sanctuary.
Gatherings Committee The Community meetings for the year 2009 will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Wilshire Park Baptist Church, 801 S. Bentwood (corner of Bentwood and Pleasant), with our next meeting being on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 beginning at 7:00 PM (Babe Chick meetings at 6:15). The beautiful walk crosses displayed at the December 9, 2008 meeting were those of Tim Harris (MW#155 Feb. 05) and Mary Harris (WW #174 Jun. 07). Fellowship always follows each meeting, so REMEMBER TO BRING SOME REFRESHMENTS (thanks to those of you who have been faithful to bring food!) and join in good Christian fellowship with your Hi-Sky Community members.

Music Committee Is Music one of your talents? Have you ever wanted to be on a Music Team on a walk? Do you play Guitar, Piano, Bass, or any other type of musical instrument? The community needs your talent and encourages you to call or email Bill Thomas (thomasfh@suddenlinkmail.com) or 638-8772.
Chrysalis Committee The dates for the Chrysalises are posted on our website and the Lay Directors are contacting team members. The Girls Chrysalis team is all set, except the adult Music Team!!! We are looking for at least 2 ladies that play and sing, and most of all want to have a fun time... Please contact Barbara Willis, bswillis1956@yahoo.com, if that sounds like you. Thank you so much for those of you who filled out a card pledging to financially support a young butterfly. Many of you have told me the pledge cards didn't reach the back rows, so there will be more cards at our next community meeting. Search your family and friends for young ladies and guys from age 15 to 19 that you think would benefit from the Chrysalis experience and get them signed up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We anticipate full flights, so don't delay! LOL
