Men’s Walk #179 – April 10-13, 2008

The 72 hours of Men's Walk # 179 has begun. Twenty-nine humble servants will be serving 35 terrific pilgrims; so you will understand when I tell you it is impossible to adequately describe the glorious spirit of charity and cooperation that was demonstrated time and again during team meetings and is sure to be demonstrated on the Walk itself.

To the entire Hi-Sky Community, I thank you with all my heart for your confidence in giving me the honor and the opportunity to be part of this wonderful weekend.

Thanks, too for your tremendous generosity providing team meeting lunches, for your abundant giving of agape food and gifts, for your hosting Candlelight Dinner, and for your attendance at Candlelight and Closing. I will be watching for you!

My prayer is that you will continue to support and encourage the Spiritual and Lay Directors of all the upcoming walks. Speaking from experience, there is absolutely no substitute for your prayers and your words of affirmation and encouragement.

Girls Chrysalis #40 – June 12-15, 2008

Dear Community,

Thank you for your generous response to the agape needs for Girl’s Chrysalis Flight #40 which is fast approaching. The flight dates are June 12–15, Father’s Day weekend, and what better Father’s Day gift than to turn your girls into butterflies, flying high for and with Christ! Time is short this year, so please remember to sign your girls up ASAP, before school is out! You can download Chrysalis Applications from the Hi Sky Emmaus website. Just click on the Walk Application link and you will see the Chrysalis Applications there. The team is almost complete and our meetings will begin shortly. Please keep Chrysalis Flight #40 in your prayers!

Committee Reports

• Agape Committee – Remember when you went on your walk and how amazed you were to find so many gifts waiting for you every time you came to the conference room table, or the dinner table, or your pillow? Remember the special love you felt? We are asking each of the community members and reunion groups to continue to be generous with gift agape sent for the walks. We greatly appreciate all the efforts of those of you who have continued to contribute your gift agape to the walks and would ask that the new members and reunion groups, and those that might have drifted away in their participation, consider new and different contributions to future walks. If you need agape ideas, you can look back at the March Hi Sky Newsletter for sources. Thank you in advance for your loving generosity, and may God continue to bless you.

  • Book Table – Thank you for all the books and materials you give for the sake of others and their Walk experience. Keep up the good work!
    
    
  • Thank you to all of you who have signed up to help with the database. We are in the process of scheduling a date to begin inputting the data and expect to have a functioning database in time for the next Team Selection meeting. This is really BIG and those of you have worked so hard for so long and those of you who will now see to the finishing touches deserve all the thanks.

• Gatherings Committee – The community meetings for the year 2008 are held at Greater Ideal Baptist church Life Center, 301 S. Tyler, with our net meeting being on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Fellowship always follows the meeting, so remember to bring some refreshments and join in good Christian fellowship with your Hi-Sky Community members. Thanks to all who have been faithful to bring food – it is greatly enjoyed by all.

• Fourth Day Committee – It is my distinct pleasure, as a board member, to be the chairman of the Fourth Day Committee. My job is to make sure everyone who is interested in a reunion group finds one. So, if you are someone looking for a reunion group or a reunion group looking for new members, please call me at 557-8744 or email to martha@movingmidland.com. I cannot begin to tell you what my reunion group means to me but it is the third one I have belonged to and the first one that worked.
