Women’s Walk #178 – Mar. 6-9, 2008

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We often hear these words from the Lay Director after a Walk – Awesome, Best Walk Ever, What a Blessing, Amazing and so on. I believed them, but didn't realize that we couldn't really, really truly understand what they meant (in full) about "the blessing" one is given being the Lay Director. So just bear with me as I use those words and more, like: powerful, anointed, miracles, and never before!!! We did not have to "wait upon the Lord" to move the Holy Spirit as we sometimes do, like "wait for the pilgrims to settle in, trust you, participate and bond with their table". He showed up Thursday night and the pilgrims came riding in "WITH" Him and HE was in control the whole time and miracles DID happen!!! If you ever have doubts about the walks doing what they are designed to do and is all the "sacrifice" of agape, praying, coming out for candlelight and closing worth it, please trust me when I say YES, YES, YES!!!! And I thank you so much for those "sacrifices" that really do make a difference in someone's life!!! Keep up the good work this Hi-Sky Community is doing and may the Lord bless each and every one of you!!! I greatly appreciate the opportunity you gave me of serving the Community and the Lord in this way. May we always glorify His name, God Bless you!!

Men’s Walk #179 – April 10-13, 2008

Men's Walk 179 had its second team meeting this Saturday. We had a wonderful time praising and singing, and listening to some great talks. We have a full team in place. The team members are excited and ready for our next team meeting on April 5.

We are one month away from April 10 (today is March 10) and have 4 pilgrims on the pilgrim list. We trust that each and everyone who reads this newsletter will be praying that we will have a full walk (36). Thank You, Community, for all you have done, and all that you are going to do! Please continue to Pray for the team and pilgrims of MW179.

Committee Reports

• Agape Committee – Remember when you went on your walk and how amazed you were to find so many gifts waiting for you every time you came to the conference room table, or the dinner table, or on your pillow? Remember the special love you felt? We are asking each of the community members and reunion groups to consider coming up with more ideas for gift agape for the walks. Can you help? There are so many sources for ideas: the Mardel’s Christian Store on Wadley has lots of inexpensive gifts you can purchase, or there are several websites for craft ideas (listed below), and there are always the Oriental Trading Company and other catalogs full of ideas. We greatly appreciate all the efforts of those of you who have continued to contribute your gift agape to the walks and would ask that the new members and reunion groups, and those that might have drifted away in their participation, consider new and different contributions to future walks. Thank you in advance for your loving generosity, and may God continue to bless you.

• Gatherings Committee – The community meetings for the year 2008 are held at Greater Ideal Baptist Church Life Center, 301 S. Tyler, with our next meeting being on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Fellowship always follows the meeting, so remember to bring some refreshments and join in good Christian fellowship with your Hi Sky Emmaus Community members. • Fourth Day Committee – It is my distinct pleasure, as a board member, to be the chairman of the Fourth Day committee. My job is to make sure everyone who is interested in a reunion group finds one. So, if you are someone looking for a reunion group or a reunion group looking for new members, please call me at 557-8744 or email to martha@movingmidland.com. I cannot begin to tell you what my reunion group means to me but it is the third one I have belonged to and the first one that worked. • Trailer/Supplies Committee – Our group of trailer volunteers is continuing to grow. Slowly but surely, we are getting the kinks out and doing process improvements. Eli Kuhlman will be permanently mounting the spare tire on the music trailer. We now have wheel chocks for both trailers. We ran precariously close to running out of candles for candlelight on the last walk, but we now have that situation taken care of. If you have any suggestions for improvements, please feel free to contact me. I appreciate everyone’s patience with my learning curve.
