Women’s Walk #176 – Nov. 8-11, 2007

Dear Community:

By the time you get this newsletter, WW #176 will be in the history books as probably the best walk ever. So far, if team meetings are any indication, we are off to a grand start. The Team meetings were a tremendous expression of God's love and grace, not to mention a lot of fun. Thank you for your prayers and generous gifts of agape.

Men’s Walk #177 – Feb. 7-10, 2008

Time to be praying and considering those you would like to attend a walk and get those registration forms turned in. The busy Holiday Season is coming upon us quickly, and you don’t want to wait too late to get your pilgrims registered for this early February Men’s Walk. God knows which men He wants on this walk and is waiting for your prayers to hear from Him as to who they are.

Women’s Walk #178 – Mar. 6-9, 2008

What a blessing and honor it is to serve Jesus and my Community as the Lay Director for Women's Walk #178 - March 6-9, 2008!!! We are working on Team Selection and I am further blessed to be able to do something new within the High Sky Community on this walk. Two representatives from the Big Country Community are coming to be on the team and in the Prayer Room "full time"! This is their only task, praying and worshiping!! We would like two other women who have a heart for prayer to join them on this "Prayer Team". The Big Country Community has been doing this since 1996 and I have been blessed to be on a Prayer Team and cannot begin to tell you how awesome it is. If you are interested and have a heart for prayer, please contact me at 638-4248 or flag me down at Community!

  • Book Table – Thank you for all the books and materials you give for the sake of others and their Walk experience. Keep up the good work!
    
    
• Gatherings Committee – Remember that leftover agape from each walk is brought to the next two Community meetings for the purpose of the persons/groups who provided it to pick up and use for future walks. If not picked up at either of these two meetings, the agape is kept and sent later in the year to the abuse center where it is greatly appreciated. Anyone who has provided a particular item of agape for a walk can also contact Janis Chapman [janischapman@sbcglobal.net or 682-9586] and ask her to hold those leftover items out for you.
  
  
  • New community members – your name tags for your lanyards will also be in the foyer at Community meetings to pick up (if not picked up at the first Community meeting following your order, it will be mailed to you).
    
    
  • Walk crosses for The October Community Meeting/20th Anniversary Celebration were those of as many past Lay Directors who brought theirs to The Horseshoe.

• Chrysalis Committee – Be thinking of and praying for those teens (ages 15-19) you would like to send next year on Flights #40 (June 12-15, DeDe Willis, Lay Director) and #41 (July 10-13, Greg Birdsall, Lay Director).

• Music Committee – The music committee was very busy during October with the 20th Anniversary celebration. Many thanks to Doc Weathers, Kyle Womack, Gerry Young, Mary Lightfoot, Tish Deffenbaugh, Brenda Smith, Sherry Horne, David Moorehead, Sonny Self, Bill Thomas, Linda Ireland, Kevin Riggs, Kyle Groves and Patrick Mayers for their help with music and a giant thank you to Carroll Nall for transporting, setting up and taking down sound equipment for the event. It was great to see so many of the "old timers" singing, playing and enjoying themselves. We will set up and take down sound equipment for Women's Walk #176, November 8-11 and take care of the December community meeting and we'll be done for the year. My thanks to the members of the music committee for your faithful service to this community.

• Nominating Committee – The Nominating committee would remind you that voting continues until November 23, 2007 to elect four new Board Members for the Class of 2008. • Team Selection – Team selection has been completed for the first walk of 2008 (MW#177-Paul Anderson, Lay Director) and we will soon be selecting the team for WW#178-Susan Watson, Lay Director, March 2008. Look for cards in the pews at the next Community meeting if you are interested in working walks in 2008.
