Message from the Community Lay Director

Dear Community,

I pray that your holidays are filled with God’s love and blessings and that your anticipation of Jesus’ birth is filled with wonder…like that of a child on Christmas morning. Such a priceless gift of love we have been given!

I want to encourage each of you to come and celebrate with us on December 4, 2007 at Grace Presbyterian Church. This will be our last community meeting of the year and our last one at Grace – thank you to all those members who made us feel so welcome.

Thank you also to Jimmy Smith and the 20th Anniversary Celebration committee for a wonderful celebration and reunion of the Hi Sky Emmaus Community. To all who cooked, served, provided food, decorated, prayed, played and sang, and the many other invisible things…may you be richly blessed in knowing that God sees and does not forget. Thank you all again!

As this newsletter comes to you we are finalizing the election of new board members. Please be in prayer for us and the new members of the Board.

In this, my last newsletter as you Community Lay Director, there are so many thank you’s to be shared. To begin, I want to thank the remarkable people who serve on this board – I am humbled to have been among you and appreciate deeply your encouragement, prayer, guidance and love. To Carol Crumpton, our Community Spiritual Director, I cannot express enough the honor of having served with you. Your leadership in prayer and Christ-like attitude has been my constant companion through the year and the greatest leadership I have ever experienced. To the members of the Community, your words of love and encouragement have meant more to me than you will ever know.

I am honored to have been the Community Lay Director and thank you for the opportunity.
