Hi Sky Emmaus Community Newsletter
July, 2007 - Page 3
Board Business
In an effort to strengthen communication throughout the Hi-Sky Emmaus Community, Carol Hopkins is providing a monthly summary of the Board of Directors Meeting. The summary from the meeting of May 17, 2007 are available here.
GROW THROUGH STUDY BOOK COLLECTION
The Hi-Sky Emmaus Community continues its ongoing effort to build our book collection for use on future walks and flights. We are asking members of the community to donate books which have had meaning to them in their personal Christian growth. These books can be educational, inspirational, humorous, serious, or whatever helped you as a Christian find a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God and Christ books that you would recommend to a friend that might likewise inspire him or her.
You may wish to donate a book in honor or in memory of a Christian friend and you may place a label on the inside front cover which conveys that blessing.
At this months community meeting, there will be a deposit box available in the foyer as you enter the sanctuary.
Team lists and pilgrim lists available online
Team lists and pilgrim lists are available on the website by clicking on the Calendar link at the top of each page, then by clicking on the walk number.
Mary Lou Abendschan Memorial
Jack & Mary Lou Abendschan are names very familiar in the Hi-Sky Emmaus Community as early pioneers of the Community and Jack as a frequent Spiritual Director on walks from 1988 to 1995. Following the recent death of Mary Lou, the Board would like to make a memorial gift in her name to the endowment fund. Those wishing to make donations to this fund in memory of Mary Lou Abendschan can do so by sending their gift to Hi Sky Emmaus, Memory of Mary Lou Abenschan, P.O. Box 10370, Midland, TX 79702.
