Message from the Community Lay Director

Dear Community,

I am writing this on a beautiful May morning, not knowing which will win …. the sunshine … or the rain. Not really caring because I know the Father sends them both and has provided for our safety and even our comfort. Do we not have reason to offer Him praise!!

My prayer for you is that you will find a beautiful time or place to rediscover some of the profoundly simple miracles God does every day for your safety and comfort.

I was blessed, at our April Community Meeting, by the music and the Fourth Day talk given by Bill Thomas. And what a joy to meet his grandson! The crosses brought by Carroll Nall and many Board members were a special addition.

Are any of you wondering if the ‘real’ Mary Harris will be on hand for our May meeting? You will want to be certain to there … just in case! Please keep Mary and the team for WW#174 in your prayers, as well as the Boys and Girls Chrysalis’ coming in July. Be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit as He works through us to select the very specific ladies and young people He wants to reach through these Emmaus weekends.

I hope that you will make an extra effort to attend our May meeting on Tuesday, May 22. Our Fourth Day speakers will be Kim and Frank Stowers who have served this Community for nearly all of its 20 years and will share some of their experience with us.

Your Board also requests your prayers as we are taking nominations for 2008 Lay Directors. Please prayerfully consider whose name you may want to submit for consideration. Also pray for us as we seek the will of God for this Community.

I guess I should close this as the morning is now passing quickly. I hope that my afternoon thoughts of you are just as refreshing!
